Early Intervention Programme
Our Early Intervention Programme (EIP) provides structured and comprehensive early intervention services for young children on the autism spectrum, aged 6 years and below.
We support children and families through individualised learning plans that focus on building independence, communication, and essential life skills.
Our Curriculum
Our curriculum is guided by the ARC(S) Intervention Focus Areas Pyramid, which outlines the key skills children need for learning, independence and meaningful relationships.
We start with foundation skills at the base of the pyramid and work our way up, using the pyramid to prioritise intervention goals and focus areas as children develop.

Intervention Journey
Every child who enters the programme begins a journey with us. The programme endeavours to provide the appropriate support to help each child move from one signpost to the next in this intervention journey.
Assessment

Intervention
2. Goal Setting:
We work with parents to identify meaningful goals based on assessment findings and family priorities.
3. Implementation:
Teachers deliver structured lessons tailored to each child’s learning profile using evidence-informed autism support strategies.
4. Review:
Each child follows an Individualised Education Plan (IEP) reviewed annually to monitor progress and adjust goals.
Next Steps

We prepare children and families from the beginning of the programme for their next educational placement.
This may include:
- Mainstream schools
- Special education schools
- Private learning programmes
Transition planning ensures children are supported beyond the programme and families feel prepared for the next stage of their life.

How to Apply
Eligibility
All children 6 years and below may enroll for the WeCAN Early Intervention Programme (EIP). Singapore citizens and permanent residents are given priority.
Application Process
Doctor's Referral
Visit a doctor at any polyclinic to refer your child for assessment at:
The hospital will recommend EIPIC if your child is assessed to be suitable. Alternatively, you may approach a private paediatrician for assessment and recommendation for EIPIC.
Application to SG Enable
A child can only be referred to WeCAN Early Intervention Progamme (EIP) through SG Enable .
SG Enable Referral to WeCAN EIP
When a referral is received from SG Enable, we will contact the family and send out the respective application forms.
Once the completed application form is returned, we will invite the child for a Needs Assessment within one and a half months of the referral date.
Needs Assessment
A needs assessment is the next step in the WeCAN Early Intervention Programme (EIP) enrolment process. It is conducted by trained professionals from the WeCAN EIP Needs Assessment team.
Children on the waiting list are scheduled for assessment throughout the year. All parents and regular caregivers are encouraged to attend the assessment with the child.
Aims of Needs Assessment:
- Gather information about child's functioning in autism areas
- Assess child's learning strengths and needs
- Determine suitability for WeCAN EIP
- Provide information to parents on case management
Duration of assessment:
Approximately 45 mins.
Outcome of assessment:
The EIP team will discuss intervention options with the family. If the team finds the child suitable for the programme, we will place him/her on our waitlist until a suitable vacancy arises. Parents will be contacted as soon as the placement arises for the child.

Parent Orientation
Orientation is conducted annually to inform parents about the programme delivery and outcomes. Should the child enter the programme during the school year, parents will be oriented separately.
