At WeCAN EIP, we believe early intervention works best when families are actively involved. Parents and caregivers play an important role in supporting their child’s learning and development.
Through the WeCAN Early Intervention Programme, we work closely with families to strengthen learning across different environments and support children in applying their skills beyond the classroom.
Consistent Support Across Home, School, and Community
Family involvement and collaboration are an important part of your child’s early intervention journey. Working together helps create greater consistency and provides opportunities for children to practice and build their skills in every day situations.
Families May Be Involved in the Following Ways:
Intervention Sessions
Parents and caregivers may be invited to join classroom sessions to:
- Observe teaching strategies in real time
- Learn practical strategies to support their child
- Understand how skills are taught and reinforced
- Apply strategies at home to support continued learning
Community Outings
Families may also have opportunities to participate in community outings to:
- Practice skills in real-world settings
- Support their child’s independence and social interaction
- Build confidence in everyday environments
- Encourage the use of learned skills beyond the classroom
By working together, we can create meaningful opportunities for children to learn, practise, and grow across the different environments in which they live, learn, and participate.
